How rankings work

FounderBuilt popularity reflects activity on FounderBuilt, not attention across the whole internet. Profile views indicate interest; clicks through to the actual tool website carry more weight.

What counts

A profile view becomes eligible after the individual tool page has been visible for two seconds. Directory cards, prefetches and hidden tabs do not count as profile views. Website click-throughs are counted when a visitor uses a Visit button. Neither signal proves a unique person or a completed visit on the external website.

Repeat profile views and repeat click-throughs are filtered separately each day. Viewing a profile does not prevent its website click from counting. Known bots and local or preview traffic are excluded. Filters reduce abuse but cannot eliminate it; shared networks may undercount genuine activity.

Time windows

• Today: since midnight UTC, compared with the previous UTC day.
• This week: today and the preceding six UTC days, compared with the seven days before that.
• All time: collected history, compared with totals through yesterday.

The seven-day chart shows website clicks, not the weighted score. Snapshots refresh about once a minute. Today and the current week are incomplete periods, so comparisons may differ in elapsed time.

Rank and movement

Tools are ordered by their combined engagement score. Equal scores share a position; newer listings are displayed first within ties. No activity means no rank. New means a tool has eligible engagement now but none in its comparison period. Filters retain the global rank.

Fairness

Subscriptions, sponsorships and verification never influence the score. External sources such as X or Product Hunt are not used. The detailed weighting stays internal. This is an attention ranking, not a quality rating or an endorsement.

Existing eligible click history is retained. Profile views start from the introduction of this tracking system; legacy or demo view counters are not imported. Duplicate website listings share a canonical entry.

Privacy

The server uses a daily keyed identifier derived from IP address and browser user-agent for deduplication, plus a daily network identifier for rate limits. The ranking database stores neither raw IP addresses nor raw user-agent strings. Identifiers rotate daily; receipts are removed after roughly two days. Anonymous daily totals remain.
