Hoplite (YC S26) launches to deploy coding agents in the cloud

Hoplite, a Y Combinator S26 startup, launched today on Hacker News with a platform for deploying coding agents in the cloud. Founded by Bence and Ryan, the team aims to make cloud-based coding agents performant and genuinely pleasant to use, a gap they found after testing every existing solution on the market.

Hoplite's standout feature is its onboarding flow: it ports over your local setup, including sessions, memories and MCP servers, and gets your projects ready to run in the cloud within minutes. The platform also ships with a suite of QA tools designed to make it easy to verify features before they go out.

The founders arrived at Hoplite after pivoting from their original YC idea, AI for retail investing, which they decided was a product they would not use themselves. Their move reflects a broader shift in the AI agent space toward infrastructure that makes agentic workflows fast, cloud-native and simple for founders and developers to adopt.
